Topic

You can confirm your pregnancy after Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) by taking a Blood pregnancy test and urine test. You are excited and eager to know about your pregnancy results.

It’s time to be relaxed and ready to see the result.  You came here to have a successful pregnancy.  Hopefully, you have tried this naturally, but IUI treatment will help you to have a happy future.

After IUI, How to Confirm Pregnancy?

Pregnancy can be held with the two types of test, after 10 days of conception in IUI treatment, HCG can appear in pregnant women’s blood and urine. If the fertility was used or the procedure was conducted after ovulation.

It is advised to take a pregnancy test after 14 days of IUI to get accurate results.

Symptoms included after IUI, spotting or bleeding, fatigue, breast changes, nausea, vomiting, and mood swings.

This is a positive sign of your pregnancy. You need to take some rest, do routine activities, and have intercourse after IUI which helps exercise as per the guidance by a specialist.

Pregnancy Urine Test

Taking Urine tests at home can detect the hormone HCG in your urine.  The tests are available at supermarkets, drugstores, and kit options.

The HCG levels may not show accurate results,  if the lower level of HCG shows when you test it at home, the result might differ.

If you get a positive result, it is good even,  you need to confirm this with your doctor.  If you find a negative result in this test, you need to wait until your period starts for a few days alone.

You must consult with your specialist to confirm the result.

Pregnancy Blood Test

Taking a blood pregnancy test from the hospital can detect pregnancy earlier.  It helps to measure the exact amount of HCG in urine. HCG level is precious to the result of HCG blood level.

HCG hormone produced by the placenta can be detected.  Blood tests detect the HCG level more accurately than Urine tests. A positive result indicates the pregnancy, but if the result is negative you are advised to wait for a few days once your period has not started.

After IUI when to take a test?

After IUI treatment, you need to wait for 14 days to take a test.  It is advised you take a blood test as it is more accurate than taking a urine test.

After your IUI you enter the luteal phase this phase of your menstruation cycle is the time between ovulation and your expected period date.  It denotes Implantation where the egg is attached directly to the uterine lining.

It occurs after 6 to 12 days of ovulation.  Doctors advise IUI-treated patients to wait for two weeks because their hormone (HCG) needs to increase its level for the test.

After the test your result will be positive it is highly good and confirmed with your doctor.  But, if it is negative you need to wait for a few days, your next period date has started for the confirmed results.

1. Waiting period

After IUI 14 days is considered to be a waiting period before a test, presence of pregnancy accurately detects the hormone HCG in your body.  HCG level is considered to be important to check your HCG Blood level.

HCG level is increased due to medication during your treatment.  This may indicate the pregnancy is successful.

2. Blood test vs. urine test

A blood test is mostly preferred for accurate results.  It helps to detect the lower level of hormone which confirms the pregnancy results earlier than urine test results.  A urine test is commonly used for your convenience.

3. Urine test timing

After 10 days of conception(approximately), HCG begins to appear in your blood and urine.  You can wait for 14 days to take this test.  You can take this test at home, but the result might not be accurate, better you can go for a Blood test.

4. Blood test timing

As your fertility specialist suggested your timing, you need to follow. Typically you might take the test 10-12 days after treatment, according to your body it might vary provided by your doctor’s advice.   It is early detection of HCG.

Usually, IUI patients will take blood tests after 14 days of this treatment, to get accurate results.

Factors Affecting the Accuracy of Pregnancy Tests:

Some factors can affect the accuracy of pregnancy tests:

After IUI, based on the procedure the timing may differ and it also varies from person to person.  A woman can test 10-12 days after if the IUI was conducted during ovulation.  After ovulation, fertility medication can be tested for only 14 days.

If you take the early before this completion of 14 days, it may result in a false.  This may happened due to insufficient HCG.

If you undergo any fertility drugs containing HCG, can result in a false positive. To avoid this, better to take a test after 14 days.

Multiple pregnancies may be there if you have taken IUI,  In this case, HCG also increases, and this may affect the timing of the pregnancy test.  And this will lead to early positive results.

Conclusion

After a two-week wait, you can test your pregnancy confirmation along the above directions.  Your excitement is on the top to see the results.  Hope, that if you undergo the IUI pregnancy treatment, you wish to get your baby after all the struggles.

Consult your doctor about your test result, for positive confirmation.
