After IVF embryo transfer Pregnancy symptoms

Topic

After Embryo transfer in IVF, some symptoms can occur during your pregnancy.   These symptoms denote the positive sign of successful embryo transfer.

This might make you stressed, and there will be symptoms pop-ups. You need to be more aware and optimistic about the symptoms during your two-week wait.

The first few weeks after embryo transfer are considered to be more important since, at that time only fertilized egg implants into the uterine lining.

Pregnancy symptoms in ivf

IVF approximately takes two weeks for the pregnancy symptoms. You can experience some stress and anxiety during this period. Some symptoms may be marked as successful procedures, they are related to medications and fertility drugs to take when you get pregnant.

The symptoms include Implantation Bleeding, Mild cramping, spotting, discharge, bloating, fatigue, flashes, headaches, increased urination & missed period, Increased vaginal discharge, nausea & Vomiting.

Let’s see the first two weeks of symptoms after IVF transfer,

Day 1-7: First 3 days no noticeable symptoms happened, as the embryo implants there will be mild cramping and bloating.

Day 7-14: From day 7 – 10 you will get implantation bleeding, after 10 days embryo releases HCG, the symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, breast tenderness, and mild pelvic discomfort.

These symptoms may cause another issue.  So, you need to consult with the fertility specialist to assess you.

Implantation Bleeding:

Women can experience some spotting or bleeding after embryo transfer happens in 7-10 days. They felt stress and concern about bleeding while they trying to get pregnant.

This shows that the embryo has found its home in the uterine lining.  If you feel spotting in your underwear or toilet paper after the embryo transfer or in the week, This is a positive sign of your pregnancy.

So, the embryo is successfully attached to your uterine wall lining. When you feel high bleeding, please consult your specialist in this case.

Mild Cramping:

Cramping symptom takes place along with implantation bleeding in the early pregnancy period. Cramping is like a period that might last 7-10 days.  It might be an indication of Ovarian hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS).

During IVF treatments, taking progesterone medication will cause mild cramping. Some may get cramping after any kind of pelvic procedure.

If you feel heavy or severe cramps, then you need to consult with your doctor immediately.

Breast Tenderness:

Breast Tenderness is the early sign of natural and IVF pregnancy.  You need aware of whether your breast is sore to touch, tender, or swollen, it signifies that the embryo transfer is successful.

Usually, women felt tenderness in their breasts during the mensurational cycle.

Why do you get sore in your breast? Your hormone will increase due to IVF treatment and also it may be caused due to the injections you have taken during the IVF process.

Tiredness and Fatigue:

Tiredness and Fatigue are also one of the positive signs of successful embryo transfer.  At this time, extra hormone progesterone will increase, which may cause you to become fatigued.

Tiredness starts from day one itself.  Fatigue is also one of the signs of a positive pregnancy.  If you feel more tired and lazy by doing household work, this may lead to the success of embryo transfer.

Missed Period:

You need to wonder when you are in this stage. This is the most positive sign/indication for your pregnancy confirmation.

The absence of mention can signify successful embryo transfer, where you have a proper mensurational cycle, which occurs on the same day in the month.

Moreover, a missed period does not always indicate a positive sign of pregnancy, you may miss your period cycle due to some reasons: Stress, hormonal imbalance & poor diet, etc.,

Nausea and vomiting:

This symptom is a positive sign of embryo transfer.  Nausea and vomiting cause in the morning, usually you get these symptoms during your fourth month of pregnancy, some women might get this feeling throughout their pregnancy period.

This arises due to your pregnancy hormones on your body. Eat easy-digestion foods that are high in carbohydrates and low in fat.

Bloating:

This symptom is also a positive sign that your embryo is growing and is implanted.  Bloating happens due to an increase in your progesterone levels during your early pregnancy.

When it is uncommon or improbable means this symptom may indicate (OHSS) Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.  Due to injection fertility, OHSS is serious which is triggered by hormones.

When you feel OHSS, you need to take immediate medication with your specialist.

Increased Vaginal Discharge:

This symptom indicates a positive sign of implantation. This is the most common one that can happen in early pregnancy.

It will help in preventing infection, the vagina is traveled into the uterus. Vaginal discharge will be thin, milky white, clean, and has a mild smell.

If you are facing vaginal discharge that is abnormal or unusual, consult with your doctor.

Headaches:

After the successful transfer of the embryo, headache may arise due to your hormones start increasing by the IVF treatment. This may occur due to dehydration in your body caffeine, or improper rest and stress.

Try to take more rest and hydrate yourself during this period.

Headaches may be caused by taking medication like progesterone and estrogen.  You can have headaches during your period which indicates a positive sign of your pregnancy.

Is It Normal To Have No Symptoms After an Embryo Transfer?

It is normal that you have no symptoms after an Embryo transfer but still have a pregnancy test.  Mostly, the symptoms may be caused due to medications or supplements like progesterone and estrogen.

It is common to have non-symptom or mild symptoms even excess of progesterone and estrogen after the embryo transfers 10 to 15% of patients have faced this situation.

Most patients will get the symptoms after the embryo in IVF treatment, 90% of women will have symptoms by 8 weeks.

Conclusion:
